York and Poquoson residents deserve to be safe in their homes and businesses. Every member of Krystyn's staff works diligently both in and out of the courtroom to keep York and Poquoson as two of the safest communities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The twin goals of the criminal justice system are punishment and rehabilitation, which is often a difficult balancing process. Judges, defense attorneys, and prosecutors strive to serve the needs of both the accused and the community. The accused has his or her own advocate in defense counsel. The prosecutor's job is to advocate for the needs of the community. Krystyn favors graduated punishment to prevent recidivism in crime and promote safe communities.

Krystyn has supported and worked in close cooperation with all local law enforcement agencies. She sits on panels to improve communication between the community and law enforcement. She believes that law enforcement officers are the true heroes of the criminal justice system and deserve that respect. She trains officers, is on call 24 hours a day, responds to crime scenes, and supports law enforcement causes. Good police work is the first step in every successful prosecution.
